This collection consists of 7 boxes and one oversize folder of material created by or relating to Hugh Deane Jr. Material dates from the 1930s to 2001, and primarily documents Hugh Deane's work as a journalist in eastern Asia and his involvement with the US-China Peoples Friendship Association. The collection is arranged in four series: personal files, publications, research materials, and photographic slides. Materials include personal documents and correspondence, research material and writings, military files, photographic slides, audiocassette tapes and 78 rpm records.
