Biographical / Historical

Northwestern Ice and Cold Storage Company was founded in 1923 by Waldemar F. Henningsen, Sr., the company would expand into the Pacific Northwest with operations in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. These photographs show the cold storage plant located in Portland, Oregon. The plant was located between SE Belmont and Morrison Streets on First Avenue.
