Abstract

This collection documents scholar Ronald G. Thomas's research into indigenous peoples prior to colonization and his investigation into the human rights violations occuring within indigenous communities in Oregon and Washington, namely the federal management and restriction of fishing rights along the Columbia River. He interviewed members of the Sohappy family, and Myra Sohappy in particular, wife of the late David Sohappy who had been imprisoned for selling salmon, to discuss these topics.
